How it's done:
\n\n
\n- Disconnect the battery and locate the variable valve timing solenoid, and remove the mounting bolts.
\n- Disconnect solenoid and remove the solenoid.
\n- Lube the solenoid and apply the lithium grease to the seals on the solenoid spool.
\n- Insert the solenoid into the mounting surface space.
\n- Insert the mounting screws.
\n- Fasten the engine cover.
\n- Reconnect the battery.

When replacing the solenoid, you may experience a slight resistance but that means that the seals are properly fitted. To overcome the resistance, twist the solenoid slightly back and forth while pushing down to get it flush with the mounting surface.
